Robust, safety-certified and with FOC transmission: For a special encoder for position monitoring on a coiler motor Hübner Giessen had a suitable solution in its product range. A new case study shows how we adapted it for a rolling mill customer.
A complex task
In this modernization task, the position was to be measured precisely. In addition, the data had to be converted into optical signals and transmitted via fiber optic cable to the controller module installed in the switchboard. Safety certification according to SIL 2 / PL e was also required.
Adaptation made easy
