FGH 40

Incremental encoder with a hollow shaft

The incremental encoder FGH 40 is the successor to the FGH 4 series of encoders and represents the new generation of encoders from Johannes Huebner Giessen. The hollow shaft version of the FGH 40 is utilized to measure speed in heavy industry applications such as in steel and rolling mills, in the mining industry as well as in ports and crane systems. Rated to protection class IP65 / IP66 the device is extremely robust, the hollow shaft is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the casing is made of aluminium. The hollow shaft is available in diameters between 16 and 20 millimeters.

Option N

Mechanically fixed reference pulse (N), one square pulse per revolution, with inverted signal

Option 2F

Twice as many pulses as basic channel by combining the 0° and 90° channels

Option B

Rapid direction of rotation sensing at each edge of 0° and 90° channels

Option B2

Rapid direction of rotation sensing at each edge of 0° and 90° channels; additional standstill detection

Option B3

Direction of rotation dependent output signals. This option supports counter cards with separate UP/DOWN pulse inputs. Basic channel signals are issued at optional output 1 when rotation is clockwise and at optional output 2 when rotation is counterclockwise.

Option S

Electronic overspeed switch with two mutually independent, programmable switching points

Option FOC

As an alternative to conventional signal transmissions via copper cables it is also possible to transmit encoder signals via fiber optic cables

Option SH

1 Vpp signals sine, cosine, reference pulse; error as HTL signal; all respective signals with inverted signals

Option ST

1 Vpp signals sine, cosine, reference pulse; error as TTL signal; all respective signals with inverted signals
