FGH 14

Optical hollow shaft encoder with up to 150 millimeter bore

The optical hollow shaft encoder FGH 14 is supplied with a large hollow shaft bore up to 150 millimeters in size. Thanks to its flat style design it is particularly suitable as a base for further attachments. It is easily possible to attach as many as four further devices such as speed switches and absolute encoders or combinations of these without a coupling or flange. The device has a stable, ribbed cast aluminium casing and is available with radial shaft seals and high protection class rating up to IP56 (IP66) for use in permanently oily/wet environments. The precision nickel pulse disk offers up to 4096 pulses. The electronics are integrated in the encoder or rather in the scanning head. A redundant version is available with two identical scanning and evaluation electronics. In addition, the FGH 14 is fitted with a maintenance-friendly replaceable scanning head. The true-running adapter shaft, its axial movement as well as the concentricity of the hollow shaft of the encoder are distinguishing features influencing the precision and low harmonics of the encoder.
