Offshore Technology Days 2021: At last, a trade fair in situ once again!

Personally welcoming people instead of waving via Teams, Zoom and co.: At long last, that was possible at the end of October during the Offshore Technology Days in Stavanger. Hübner Giessen took the opportunity to present new products for the offshore sector – in person and in face-to-face discussions at our trade fair stand.

Meeting point for the offshore industry

The Offshore Technology Days (OTD) in Norway was one of the first trade fairs to be held again in situ. The oil and energy industry met in Norwegian Stavanger from 19-21 October to exchange views with suppliers on product innovations and market trends. As OTD Energy, energy and sustainability were the topics in focus this time round at the trade fair. Representing Hübner Giessen were our sales specialist Till Nürnberger, who was pleased to soak up the atmosphere of a real live trade fair again, and our Norwegian partner Brunvoll Mar El.

Real live people instead of virtual contacts

“It really was a good feeling to be able to attend a real-live trade fair once again,” explained Till Nürnberger cheerfully. Although we were able to maintain contacts online at a satisfactory level over the past months, it is something totally different to be able to present our products, ideas and system solutions “live and in the flesh, as well as to witness the reactions up close.” Engaging conversations, the exchange of professional views and networking with old acquaintances and new, prospective customers were the important aspects of the OTD for Till Nürnberger and the colleagues from Brunvoll Mar El.

New offshore products presented

In addition, it was possible to present Hübner’s new offshore products in Stavanger. On the one hand, they presented the U-ONE(-SAFETY)-LWL (INOX) Ex: Our universal encoder system that is now available as a stainless-steel version specifically for offshore applications and optionally Ex certified for potentially explosive atmospheres – as well as the bearingless MAG Ex encoders with either an incremental or absolute interface. On the other hand, they presented our Ex certified safety couplings that supplement the established EX FG 40 and new innovations as well as tailor-made cable protection systems for heavy duty applications. Concise information about all the new offshore products is also available in our latest industry flyer Offshore.

Looking to the future with optimism

Despite the challenging time due to the pandemic, which is now behind us, we at Hübner continue to look forward with optimism. Because we fully intend to continue making use of the many possibilities that online meetings and digital communication offer in the future. And it goes without saying that we are again looking forward to the next trade fairs in situ. For example, lets meet:
