FOC-Transmitter

As an alternative to conventional signal transmission using copper cables the signal from incremental encoders can also be transmitted through fiber optic cables (FOC). The signals (0°, 90°, marker pulse and LED check) available in parallel from the encoder are coded in the transmitter and transferred via just one fiber optic cable to the decoder in the switchboard. The decoder converts the coded signals back into the standard electrical signals and the inverted signals are also available.

Advantages of Huebner's fiber optic signal transmission components

  • High data transmission frequency for long cables
  • EMI immunity and thus high transmission safety
  • Less cabling costs by transmission via just one fiber optic cable
  • Electrical insulation (incremental encoder - decoder)
  • FOC-decoder with 2 output blocks (option: mutual electric insulation)
  • Output blocks optionally with HTL and/or TTL signals
  • Monitoring of fiber optic cable breakage to increase the system safety (optional)
