First series of EnergyContainer® donated to the THW (Federal Agency for Technical Relief)

Ms. O. Riedl-Hübner, the majority shareholder of Johannes Hübner, Fabrik elektrischer Maschinen GmbH, and the company's management took the decision to support the outstanding commitment shown by the THW in its work in disaster control.

Hübner Giessen is proud to donate an EnergyContainers^® to the Federal Agency for Technical Relief
Hübner Giessen chose the THW to receive its donation in recognition of its worldwide acclaimed commitment to disaster control, which is provided to 98% by volunteers. The THW will be using the mobile power supply in its work abroad.

The container was officially handed over during a ceremony held on Thursday, 21 July^th 2011. A number of high-ranking politicans were among the guests at the ceremony:

• Mr. Boris Rhein, Minister for the Interior and Sports in Hesse
• Ms. Dietlind Grabe-Bolz, mayoress of the university town of Giessen
• Mr. Hans-Jürgen Irmer, member of the state parliament

Mr. Rainer Schwierczinski, vice president of the Ferderal Agency for Technical Relief

The donation is officially handed over to the vice president of the THW, Mr. Rainer Schwierczinsky (3.f.r.)

The EnergyContainer^® is designed to provide an on-the- spot source of power in crisis-struck regions:

• Supply power to headquarters overseeing disaster control
• Supply power to storage centres and refugee camps
• Supply power to medical facilities such as container hospitals.

This EnergyContainer^® primarily supplies power by drwaing on the renewable sources of energy wind and sun. Used only sparingly, a backup diesel generator guarantees the availability of energy.

Designed for mobility it requires no supporting infrastructure to enable it to be installed and later dismantled when and where it is needed. It is possible for just two people to install the wind turbine and solar modules within a few hours.
